Dr. Valerie Power
BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, PhD (University of Limerick, Ireland)
Valerie is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Design Factors Research Group. She is a Chartered Physiotherapist, and completed her PhD at the University of Limerick in 2014 on the clinical application of wearable inertial sensors to assess gait and balance, and therefore fall risk among older adults. She is currently working on the XoSoft, Axo-Suit, and Robo-Mate projects, where her work includes engaging end-users to establish their needs and opinions in relation to assistive exoskeletons, as well as studying human biomechanics during functional tasks to inform exoskeleton design.
